Local Knowledge Exploring our Home Grounds!

Nothing beats, well we don’t think so, exploring somewhere with people who call the area home. That’s what Scotland is to Ocean Sailing Scotland, home. What an amazing place we live and work in and we love to share it. Our dedicated Scotland explorer trips allow us to share some of the most amazing locations, from quiet anchorages in secluded bays to bustling villages and towns soaked in history and tradition.

We take care of all the planning so you just need to turn up, get settled in and enjoy!  With our explorer voyages normally involving day sails with stops at anchor/mooring or in a marina each night you can expect plenty of time to explore and access facilities ashore on your voyage. Whether it's nature, landscapes, or simply the sailing that “floats your boat” (sorry, couldn’t help it), join us as we search out great times and memorable experiences.

Our Scotland Explorer Itinerary!

Outer Hebrides

Oban to Oban

The Outer Hebrides are simply stunning with such a wide range of places to visit and things to do we never seem to fit everything in that we want to! From coastal walks, great sailing, wildlife spotting, open water swimming with local produce being provided as much as possible you will not only see but taste (and smell!) the Outerh Hebrides!

This trip mainly consists of short day sails with time to explore most days sandwiched between two longer day sails as we cross the area of water known as the Minch between the Inner and Outer Hebrides.

Walking the Isle of Skye

Oban to Oban

With a mix of walking options available we just love our visits to Skye. With Coastal/Low Level walking or Mountainous Munro walking trips to suit your preference and experience we drop you off at a start point and pick you up at the other end. More of an A to B walk as opposed to an A to A!

This trip consists of sailing transits from Oban to Skye and back again with accommodation onboard while anchored off the Skye coast. Choose your own route or join our guide (subject to demand) on a set route enjoying some relaxing time with fine local produce onboard between walking trips.

Munros of Mull and the Mainland

Oban to Oban

A Munro is defined as a mountain, in Scotland, rising to over 3000 Feet and which is on the Scottish Mountaineering Club official list of Munros. Some are a little more inaccessible than others and that’s where we come in! Imagine being able to enjoy a mobile base while ticking off some Munros, or just some incredible walking in Scotland.

With a short hop from our base to Munros on the Isle of Mull and Scottish mainland you can expect to enjoy some west coast sailing with nights at anchor in between time ashore walking. Follow the link below for more information.

Inner Hebrides

There are so many things to do and with over 10 islands and outcrops forming the inner Hebrides we have an incredible choice of directions to head and places to explore. Follow the link below for more information.
