St kilda and western isles example route

Set sail on the adventure of a lifetime with our Bucket List journey to St. Kilda! This is your chance to experience the wild beauty of the West Coast through some of Scotland’s legendary landscapes.

Embarking from Oban on the West Coast you’ll be treated to an unforgettable expedition. Along the way, we’ll glide past the iconic islands of Mull, the Small Isles, and the Inner and Outer Hebrides—each one more breath-taking than the last.

As we track the weather hoping for a champagne sailing window and prepare to tackle the North Atlantic, we’ll be on a thrilling course toward the world-famous St. Kilda, a UNESCO World Heritage site like no other. Adventure, stunning scenery, and the open sea await—join us and make memories that will last forever!

St. Kilda at anchor.

Once you step foot on St. Kilda, you’re entering a world unlike any other—where nature reigns supreme, history whispers through the wind, and adventure calls from every cliff. Explore the rugged beauty of the island’s dramatic landscapes, from the towering sea stacks to the windswept beaches. Hike up to the summit of Conachair for breath-taking views of the Atlantic and the surrounding archipelago. Discover the fascinating history of the island, with its ancient stone cottages and hauntingly quiet village ruins. For the wildlife enthusiasts, prepare to be awe-struck by the sheer number of seabirds that call this UNESCO World Heritage site home, including puffins, gannets, and fulmars. Whether you’re wandering along remote shores, spotting wildlife, or simply soaking in the raw beauty of this remote paradise, St. Kilda is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will leave you spellbound.

The route home will depend, as always, on the weather and sea conditions. Our fantastic skipper will make the call on whether to aim North for Lewis or South for Barra, both as magnificent as each other and offering some island hopping and Minch crossing all the way home.
