Glenn

Glenn; Principal Skipper and Adventure Advocate

Glenn enjoyed various water sports as a child, but it wasn’t until starting his career that he returned to the water and got involved in sailing

Glenn has been involved in particular with Clipper 60 yachts (Taeping and her sister ships) since 2006 working his way up from volunteer to principal skipper

Recently returning to dinghy sailing (or boats without toilets, as Glenn calls them) Glenn is also our sustainability lead.

Also working as an RYA cruising instructor, when not Skippering or helping to run Taeping, Glenn also supports youth and charitable sailing activities throughout Scotland

Working on Taeping since her delivery trip to Scotland in 2017, Glenn is also our GoTo for all the weird questions and difficult maintenance between trips

Hamish

Amy

Hamish - First Mate and Wordle King

Hamish has been sailing as a mate on Taeping for a number of years.

He was introduced to sailing in Wayfarer dinghies at the Scout Adventure Centre in Lochgoilhead, and as an adult learned to windsurf whilst living and working in the Seychelles and Hong Kong.

After returning to Scotland, he discovered it was much less appealing to capsize into the cold home waters and made the decision to learn to sail yachts.

Hamish is trained up to Yachtmaster Offshore and is a time served cruising instructor and is now the lead First mate for Ocean Sailing Scotland.

Amy - First Mate and Menu Creator Extraordinaire

Sailing most of her life, Amy started in dinghies at age 10, received her dingy instructor ticket at 17 then was on a plane to Greece to teach dingy sailing the day after her last school exam.

Since then, Amy has done 8 seasons in the Med, moving from dinghy sailing onto yachts before working up to Yachtmaster Instructor

Having worked as training crew for the Clipper Race, Amy has worked on longer passages such as Carribean to Galapagos via some stunning places and transited the Panama Canal twice along with doing Hawaii to Kiritibati and back in the wilds of the North Pacific

More recently Amy has spent a lot of time on the West Coast of Scotland, training and helping the Ellen MacArthur Trust with maintenance

Amy's desire to aim for better menus on boats came from the amount of training where boat food was simple and straightforward. Her mantra of "While there's nothing wrong with simple why not improve where you can?" saw her be instrumental in developing our new 2025 menu

aneesh

Aneesh - Host, Shore Support and Wildlife Ambassador

Starting her boating career when she left Scotland to travel in 2013, Aneesh became a dive instructor and snorkel guide spending many seasons in Tonga where she took people to swim with whales.

COVID brought Aneesh back to Scotland where she hopped on another boat and started her journey to becoming a skipper while working as crew and a tour guide on scenic cruises around the Clyde.

With her boat license freshly off the print, Aneesh was loaned out to Glenn as his assistant for a sailing regatta where a hilarious friendship was formed and this is where her sailing journey began.

Aneesh recently completed her competent crew and plans to advance her sailing qualifications while being the Hostess and Admin for Ocean Sailing Scotland.
