Sailing and Exploring Weekends - Firth of Clyde 2024

Join us onboard Taeping, our Ocean Racing Yacht, for fun or learning as we share some of the skills and knowledge we sail by as we cruise and explore the Firth of Clyde. Whether it be sail trim, heavy weather techniques, night sailing or the important question of just how do I cook apple pie at sea, we have it covered. Even if it’s just an opportunity to explore and step away from the daily grind, join us for a weekend adventure.

Starting from and returning to Kip Marina, Scotland’s Premier marina we will begin with important familiarisation and safety briefings. With a full day of activities planned we will be covering an array of hints, tips and techniques both ashore and on the water.

With plenty of options for sailing areas in the Clyde we may spend our weekend exploring the areas around Kip Marina and the upper Clyde returning to Kip on the Saturday evening. With the amazing mountains of Loch Long (and the secret submarine base), tranquil waters of Holy Loch and the beauty of the Kyles of Bute it will all be over too soon. Some weekends will allow for travel a bit further afield perhaps heading south round the Cumbraes and up into Scotland’s longest sea loch, Loch Fyne. Here we will take our time taking in the sights before berthing in Tarbert overnight. Enjoy a sunset walk up to the castle, sit on one of the waterside benches or simply enjoy an evening drink on Tapping’s deck. A selection of bars and restaurants are a (very) short walk from the marina should you want a night out on the town. After breakfast the next morning, we will head back down Loch Fine, this time going through the Kyle’s of Bute and passing the idyllic Caladh Harbour before making our way back in to Kip for disembarking.

With stops in interesting places, from isolated coasts to traditional villages steeped in history, this is an affordable adventure weekend with a difference
