The Arctic Circle, a virtual line running round the globe which holds mystique for many a sailor. Join us in 2019 in Iceland’s Capital city Reykjavik as we embark on some cruising and a bit of overnight sailing on our Arctic Circle challenge. Start the trip off when you join the yacht at Brokey Marina in Reykjavik. Once onboard and with familiarisarion and safety briefs to start your adventure it won’t be long before we head out for some crew training on our Ocean sailing yacht. Visiting a local Fjord steeped in history this will be training with a difference. With crew training done and watches allocated it will be all systems go to head north up Iceland’s West coast. With plenty of options for stops and exploring on the way up the schedule is at the mercy of the weather and skipper!

Perhaps a stunning anchorage for lunch in one of Iceland’s western Fjords or a night moored by the old wooden, tin roofed houses of Isafjordur will fit in nicely. You can be guaranteed stunning scenery. Next step on our journey will be to cross into the Arctic circle, which lies just north of Iceland’s North coast. Cruising along the coast the skipper will be watching the weather as you prepare for the passage to the Faroe Islands. With weather sorted for optimal routing and conditions the next challenge will be to round the North East corner of Iceland and set sights for the Faroe Islands. With a couple of overnights it will be time to enjoy the long days of light on the final passage and hopefululy an early arrival will see some time to explore a bit of the Faroes.

This voyage plans to finish at Vagar where the main Faroe Island’s airport is located. Arrival and departure dates tie in with flights to\from Edinburgh, but of course, nothing to stop you spending a few days exploring ashore.
