Event ID: Jun0620Tc

Skipper (Subject to change): G. Porter

Event Type: Public Event, “Open to All”

Event Class: Race (Some overnight sailing with a watch system)

Join us for our annual Bucket List Sailing trip to St. Kilda, departing from the Clyde Estuary in 2020 and running as part of the St. Kilda Challenge race event. Start the trip off when you join the yacht at Kip marina, where Taeping calls home. Just a short hop from Glasgow Airport it won’t be long before you are immersed in the ocean racing yacht experience. With familiarisation and safety briefs to start your adventure it won’t be long before we head out for some ocean race training as we make or way to the start line. After meeting the rest of the racing yachts at Rathlin it will be time for final preparations for the race to the dual UNESCO world heritage site. With careful weather routing going on we will be taking on the North Atlantic aiming for St. Kilda.

After circumnavigating the archipelago and crossing the finish line it will be time to relax and hopefully enjoy some time ashore on this amazing place. It’s not over yet though, next stop is to head for Scotland’s Outer Hebrides for a shore side festival and prizegiving. Dancing, and perhaps some local dining completed it will be time to slip lines into cruise mode heading south aiming for the bustling capital City of Dublin. With a variety of places to stop on the way down this leg is a great excuse to shift down a gear after participating in one of the UK’s ultimate offshore events.
