Sometimes when sailing we have to sit and watch hour after hour as we make no direct progress towards our actual destination! Like building a house where we have to lay a foundation before we can see the walls going up the team on Taeping have been busy over the last day building their foundation for a change in wind direction which is forecast to arrive on the 23rd.
This means we have been busy getting our ocean racing yacht as far west as we can, well without going too far south, ready for hopefully a nice sail in a straight line towards the south west corner of Iceland starting later on Sunday 23rd.
As crew there have also been jobs to catch up on such as cleaning, sleeping, eating (very important one this) and running repairs! This, of course combined with making sure the boat and crew are ready for the next weather system which is forecast to see wind speeds increase later on Sunday 23rd. Thankfully the next weather system will be in a better direction so our sailing should be more comfortable.
Our tracking page continues to see delays in updating the yachts position but hopefully we can get this back up to full reporting soon. In the meantime keep refreshing track.taepingclipper.co.uk to follow our progress as we turn for the final part of the ocean crossing on our Icelandic challenge.
